Plate Tectonics May Have Been Caused by Glaciers

The world was once a single continent, drifted apart by plate tectonics. Scientists believe that melting glaciers may be the force behind early tectonic shifts, but more research is required to corroborate theory.
According to the latest research, extreme temperatures beneath the Earth has caused the shifting of tectonic plates that facilitate the cooling down and formation of its crust.

Content found in sediment rocks provide evidence of a period of stability in the distant past where the motion of glaciers has been theorised as giant bulldozers that activate major climate erosions.
Other experts believe that many conflicting theories abound, challenging the significance of glacial activities in the origin of plate tectonics.
