Older Fathers Tend to Pass On More Mutations
| |Studies show that new mutations come more from fathers than from mothers. This is because new genes always emerge in the male reproductive system. But this does not explain why more mature fathers pass on more of these mutations than younger ones. Scientists notice the same thing in older male fruit flies.
