Three of the most ancient stars in the universe exist in the Milky Way’s halo. Scientists believe that they have formed 12 to 13 billion years ago. This event was the time when the first galaxies were forming. These stars were called SASS (Small Accretes Stellar System) stars. The SASS stars continue to circle the boundary of the Milky Way.
