Scientists say that when continents hit each other, landmasses may sometimes result from it. Pangaea broke into many smaller pieces that we now call continents. This happened 175 million years ago. Looking closely at a world map will show you that each continent is like a jigsaw puzzle piece. The continents we have now can fit each other to form a supercontinent.
