Inland Ice in Greenland Is Actually Melting at a Faster Rate
| |The Nioghalvfjerdsfjord glacier drains the ice from Greenland’s huge ice sheet into the sea. It is one of the outlets of the Northeast Greenland Stream, which is about 370 miles long. The humungous ice flow out of Greenland’s interior is becoming faster. The melting ice is causing a dramatic rise in the global sea level. In fact, the world’s sea level is rising faster than anyone has ever expected.
