The Snot Test

Whale snot is being harvested for its DNA and to test the wellbeing of these graceful sea creatures. Iain Kerr found that the old method of harvesting tissues to determine the health of the whales in the ocean wasn’t pleasant for researchers or the animals. After having a whale sneeze on him and expel mucus, Kerr realized there was a better approach.
Now, using a commercial drone, the researcher is using a more effective mean to harvesting the cells of the whale, so that they can be better treated, in a more non-invasive approach.
